ESnet Data Collaboration
Quick
Tutorial
This is a quick step-by-step tutorial on using the ESnet
Data Collaboration service available on the Latitude
audio/data bridge.
This capability is best used with your Internet Explorer browser
on a Windows PC, but other applications and platforms are supported
to some degree. For more information on the details of this
support, and for more help, go here: http://www.ecs.es.net/audio.html
STEP 0
Basic Usage/Introduction
Main ESnet Collaboration Web Site:
http://www.ecs.es.net
Click on the Audio&Data link.
You may use this capability as part of an AUDIO conference, or
a VIDEO conference. If you schedule an AUDIO conference,
you will AUTOMATICALLY get data conferencing capability in that
meeting. If you schedule a VIDEO meeting, you do not automatically
get data collaboration with it and must separately schedule the
data conference (or start an IMMEDIATE data conference).
The following tutorial shows how to schedule a DATA conference
in conjunction with a VIDEO conference set to start September
2, 2003 at 10:20 AM PST.
STEP 1
Go to the Main ESnet Collaboration Web site (above) or direct
to the Audio/Data bridge web site at: http://abm.es.net
.
If you are a first time user please register to use this service
by clicking on the First Time User link. NOTE: You will
need to be working on a DOE funded project to be approved to use
this service. After you have received your registration information,
continue with this step.
If you are already a registered user. Hit the "Schedule
Meeting" button OR if you want to schedule an immediate
meeting, simply click on "Immediate Meeting" button.

STEP 2
Enter your User ID and Password (this information is given in
the email you received when you registered and were approved).
Hit the "Sign In" button.

STEP 3
After you sign in, set up a meeting. The one shown below
assumes a DATA ONLY meeting. You can see that, in this case,
the number of callers (#of Callers) is set to "0".
If you wanted to schedule this as an AUDIO/DATA conference you
simply add the number of callers you expect to call in in that
space.
When you are done with this, hit the "Schedule" button.
And wait for the email notification giving you details on the
meeting.

STEP 4
You will have gotten an email notification telling you what date
and time the meeting will be held, and the Meeting ID number (in
this case 0521).. When the time for the meeting rolls around,
go back to the main page
( http://abm.es.net ) and enter in the Meeting ID.
Then hit "Attend Meeting"

STEP 5
Enter your User ID and Password if you are a registered user,
or enter your name if you are a GUEST. Then hit "Attend
Meeting".

STEP 6
You may see one of the following and it may happen twice or more.
Just remember to click "Yes" when something comes up.
Trust us! ;-)

STEP 7-Meeting Time!!
When you have clicked YES enuf times, you will eventually get
this screen (or if the person controlling this is already in and
has things set up, you may see meeting content). READ this
screen to learn how to use the system. Good Luck and Happy
Meetings!!!
